Evidence of photoshop

Evidence of making the poster:

This is the image that I used for my magazine advert poster, I chose a picture where the band takes up most of the space, so that they are made centre of attention and catch the eye of the audience. It was important to me to have the girls positioned like this so that each of them are clearly visible to the audience, allowing their individuality to be expressed. This formation also allows them to be seen as working together, and as a group, highlighting their connections and unity.

I then chose to put this picture slightly to the left, this was to enable space to write along the write hand size, so that any text was clear and visible. By doing this I aimed to ensure that the band were centre of attention, and that writing wasn’t at any point drastically altering the picture, meaning all of the girls were shown to be as equal as each other within this image.

In order to maintain consistency across each of my ancillary products, I included my logo onto the magazine advert, this was done not only to act as a method of allowing the girls to be recognised but also create a link between the poster and the digipak. To ensure access to my music and promote the music further I included the relevant media platforms where the music would be available, for example Spotify. To show this on my poster I downloaded an image from google of the platforms I would publish it on. In photoshop I then used the magic wand tool to cut out the back ground of the image, leaving me with a simplistic outline.

I also adjusted the text to ensure it was similar to my digipak to also create a connection and a noticeable resemblance. To add text, you select type tool on the left hand side which is symbolised as a T, and then adjusted the font, as well as the space between each of the letters on the right hand side, using the arrow and drop box on the left hand side. For example, I changed the letter ’N’ to Chalkduster, to create a similarity between the ’N’ of the logo and the title across each of my ancillary products. I also chose to use this font as I find that it stands out, presenting the band as slightly more developed and interesting that may be presented through their everyday style highlighted through costume. It creates a message that individuals are more than what they look like, and that you shouldn’t ever judge someone in relation to what they wear or how they physically present themselves

I also added reviews by choosing the horizontal type tool in order to gain publicity and present the album positively to the audience to get the as many views as possible, and create brand well known amongst the young generation. Similarly I added a star rating for the same effect. To do this I chose the shape tool, and then used the paint bucket tool to fill them all in white. Filling them in white means they will stand out against the dark back ground, making them noticeable. I also altered the image very slightly previous to adding any text, I used the spot healing brush tool to remove any imperfections creating a clean image.
