YouTube comments and analysis:

My response to Klodi and Emily's feedback: I used a variety of camera angles in my music video so that I was able to present the girls as powerful, low angle shots especially the shot where the girls walk past the camera, represents the girls confidence within themselves and how comfortable they are both with each other and in general.

My response to Ashliegh's feedback:
I decided to use shots outside in order to add a sense of community to the music video, presenting a sense of friendship as well as allowing members of the audience to connect or relate to the music video. The graffiti wall is also featured more times after producing the rough cut after many members of my target audience found these shots effective. I decided to use graffiti as it is something typically associated with adolescents, providing a sense of community for the younger generation. As most of the music video is targeted at females as a result to the female power and control suggested, the graffiti wall allows for the video to be targeted at any male members of the audience. Graffiti usually acts as an association to boys, allowing them to relate.

My response to Vicky's feedback:
A dance choreography was used in order to further show female power. Dancing was also used so that I was able to directly target 12-20 year olds as I found out after interviewing a member of my target audience, dance is preferred as well as expected within a Pop music video. I decided to use dance as it acts to support the pace of the music, allowing for a cheerful atmosphere amongst both members of the audience as well as shown by the band themselves. The black gaps within the video were as a result to this being incomplete, however, were filled with a number of studio shots in order to brighten up the music video, creating a positive mood and further acting to empower the female members of the audience.

My response to Hannah's feedback:
When finishing the music video, I ensured to change costumes when filming in different locations. Throughout the entirety of the music video I included a number of costume changes so that I was able to show each individual independently, while presenting their own individual characteristics. When filming all of the girls in one location, for example Central London, I kept similarities between each of the girls to also show that these girls work together as one, and highlighting their friendship, while still showing individuality through the variety of coloured t-shirts. I then changed the colours of these t-shirts when filming altogether in the studio so that their individuality could be presented further, I also changed their t-shirts after realising one of the girls was wearing something that didn't stand out enough. I changed this over to a pink t-shirt so she was able to stand out more, and her femininity personality was further presented.

Within my final video, at the beginning, and then throughout, I have included individual shots in four different locations in order to further present individuality. I ensured to include more shots of Ayanna, after being noted that she didn't feature enough, for an equal distribution.

For my final music video I have also cut down the song very slightly, this is because I think it may have become slightly too repetitive for younger members of the audience for example 12 year olds, causing individuals to get bored and then forget about the band. Shortening this therefore meant that the entire music video was filled with a variety of different shots and locations, remaining interesting.

My response to Emily's feedback:
I chose to use variation in location during the rap scene so that the video was able to become more interesting, however, I ensured this location was still in Central London, as well as to ensure clips of the girls throughout to maintain consistency and show a friendship. I maintained very simples costumes throughout so that I was able to directly target the younger members of the audience, for example, those ranging between 12-15 so that these girls felt supported and were able to look up to the band members rather than being intimidated. Clothing and costume plays a huge part in the identity of an individual within modern day society, therefore keeping these costumes neutral, and relatable to everyday wear, meant a large audience would be able to associate rather than feeling the need to change their style to essentially be 'suitable' within society. The purpose of this band was to eliminate some expectations faced by young girls, and instead create a down to earth girl band.

Receiving these comments after publishing my rough cut on YouTube meant that I could develop and alter any aspects of the music to my best ability, ensuring that the finished product was directly targeted to my target audience.

Question three: Part three
Video feedback on Print work...
Here is some feedback that I received from a member of my target audience after producing my Print work to go alongside the 'Power' music video my Nouveau Riche.

Here is my feedback for my print work, from Jodie who is twelve and therefore fits in as a member of my target audience.

Jodie stated that she liked the use of bright colours on the digipak, I decided to use orange for both the spine and also within the logo to bring together the image used on the front cover with the rest of the digipak. I have chose a bright orange so that the digipak stands out, however, used only a few colours these being black, white and orange to keep it simplistic and ensure it doesn't become to complicated, allowing me to follow the typical conventions of Pop music album covers. Small amounts of orange are also used within the music video, as one of the band members is wearing orange during the studio shots, this therefore creates a connection between the products maintaining consistency. I have also used this very bright orange so that it is able to stand out and be noticeable especially to the younger spectrum of my target audience, allowing a new and developing girl band to stand out against any existing Pop artists.

I aimed to make the promotional poster that comes along side the digipak to be representative of the girls being fun and playful, as shown by each of the girls laughing within the photograph. The fun and excitement shown, indicates he girls collective personalities further allowing some members of the audience to connect, as well as associate with the band. I thought that this image would be suitable for that of a teenagers bedroom wall as it is interesting however simple, maintaining the positivity and female power expressed through the song. It also goes well alongside the other print work as it shows another side to the girls. Both the digipak as well as magazine advert show independence, control and their stern looks portray their power, while the promotional poster indicates their fun and childish sides, representing the girls to be comfortable within themselves. This representative of the girls to have many emotions further shows them to be normal people, allowing members of the audience to further connect with the band.

I maintained a theme within the inside pages of the digipak to ensure consistency allowing the digipak to appear professional and well made through the use of a colour scheme, as well as a recurring logo that would make the audience aware of who this band were, and become recognisable as well as remembered. Jodie also stated that she liked the individuality shown on the inside pages. I used four separate images of the girls, where they are all wearing something different in order to show this and allow the girls to not only be seen as a collective as shown on the front cover but also individually. This page also supports this idea shown throughout the music video as each of the girls are seen both independently in their own locations, and then collectively as a group while dancing. I did this to allow young members of the audience to understand the importance of friendship, providing a sense of community and group work, as well as the importance of being yourself and acting alone to support yourself as a strong and independent member of society, without the need to rely on others.

I decided upon a strict formation for the magazine advert so that I was able to continue with the idea of team work shown through the strict formations of the choreographed dance routine. This formation meant that the girls are seen to work together well as a team, as well as that they are strong and powerful young individuals who aren't scared to be themselves, and who will stand up to societies expectations and stereotypes. This strict formation also meant that the girls were able to take up most of the poster, ensuring that the girls are centre of attention and highlighting their importance, so that they are able to stand out from existing artists and become recognisable.

The poster also acts to show each of the girls individuality further as each of them are wearing very different clothes. One girl is wearing pyjamas and a huge dressing gown, this shows her girly and fun aspect, almost creating the image of an innocent young girl who enjoys sleepovers.Another one of the girls is wearing a sports bra and Ivy park shorts, doing this shows her to be an energetic and sporty individual. One of the girls is wearing a bright yellow of the shoulder top, this presents her as comfortable within herself and therefore as an outgoing individual. Finally, the last band member is wearing an outgoing and unusual jacket, similarly showing her to be bold and comfortable within herself. Presenting each of the girls to have different characteristics allows for a much larger audience as different individuals may follow different members of the band, while still representing the message of individuality and expression.

The title of the digipak remained simple so that it could be easily remembered while still bold and unusual with the N being written both larger as well as in another font (chalkduster) allowing for a connection to be made between the logo and title. Similarly the album name is written in an bold and unusual font so that it is able to stand out and be easily read, grabbing the attention of the audience.

Overall the print work as a whole acts to further present a wide variety of characteristics while showing the girls to work well together as a team. I have ensured each of the products are relatively bold so that they are able to stand out, grabbing the attention of the audience, while also keeping to the conventions of Pop music.

Evidence of filming:

filming evidence:

Here is some evidence for day one of filming, that took place on Wednesday the 6th of December. We filmed one of our dancers in our music video, for one of the narrative scenes that will recur throughout.

On this day we aimed to complete all of Ashleigh's individual shots in the bedroom, so that we were able to begin editing. We completed all of this filming to a high enough standard.

Advertisment: Instagram

Advertisment:

As a method of advertising and promoting Nouveau Riche my band, along with the new song and music video, I chose Instagram to upload images of the girls. I chose Instagram as a social media networking site as it is used typically by the younger generation that members of my target audience typically use. Instagram is a much more modern and frequently used social networking site amongst younger individual, and therefore a beneficial way to promote the new band. Using Instagram would mean that young individuals would find these images would appear on individuals feeds with similar interests and frequently searched images or artists allowing Nouveau Riche to be targeted directly to individuals who would enjoy and appreciate their products.

I also regularly posted images of the girls in order to ensure that any followers were constantly being reminded of the album that was due to come out. Keeping interest, as well as allowing an audience to be gained previous to the release of the music video.

The bold 'Bio' or heading to the instagram page meant that the page would stand out, drawing attention to their new album and creating a 'buzz' or excitment amongst the target audience. Essentially the instagram accound enabled for an audience to be built for the group, as well publisise the band themselves in order to gain a place within the music industry as a new band, and also act to regularly remind followers about whats going on and when the music video
